Grandmother Oak is the community page for Marin Waldorf School, an independent preschool and K-8 located in San Rafael, California, and the only AWSNA-accredited school in Marin County.
When new students and visitors first come to our Lucas Valley campus, we always take them to meet Grandmother Oak. She is the oldest and tallest tree in the grove of valley oaks that grows on our ten-acre campus. At the heart of our school, this wise old tree gives shade and shelter to our students and their families all year long, which is why we chose her as the namesake for our virtual gathering place.
